Health Care 2.0

Jump-starting the Next Generation of Health Care

Another in a long list of experiments, I hope you find this community engaging, stimulating and a means to discussing with others the ideas and concepts you feel are relevant to the reinvention of our health care system.

Please sign up as a member and participate liberally! This will only work if we engage one another thoughtfully and consistently across our geographic and idealogical boundaries. If you have any suggestions on improving the site - please let me know.

I am experimenting with a grassroots health care price transparency initiative and I welcome all your comments and feedback on this project. Our current health care system is completely dysfunctional and unsustainable. Something has to be done and doing nothing is no longer an option. As a consumer advocate, my vision is to expose pricing for routine health care services using consumer collaboration. Consumers are invited to contribute (post) prices they paid for routine health care services in the directory. By creating a directory of true pricing, consumers can compare costs and shop for the best value, and ultimately influence what providers charge - and how much consumers pay for these services. I encourage price competition and believe consumers can benefit from this initiative. I would appreciate your help in spreading the word about OutOfPocket.com, and be sure to send me your thoughts and comments on this initiative.
